1. Acceptance

By using Trail Scout, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. The Service

Trail Scout provides trail maps, AI-powered trail recommendations, route planning tools, and related outdoor recreation information. We do our best to keep trail data accurate, but conditions change — always verify conditions before heading out.

3. Accounts

You need a free account to use AI features and save your vehicle profile. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. One account per person.

4. Pro Subscription

Trail Scout Pro costs $7.99/month or $59.99/year. You can cancel anytime — no contracts. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

5. Acceptable Use

Don't:

• Scrape or bulk-download our trail data
• Use automated tools to abuse the AI (rate limits exist for a reason)
• Impersonate others or create fake accounts
• Use the service for anything illegal

6. Trail Safety Disclaimer

Trail Scout is an information tool, not a safety guarantee. Trail conditions, road closures, weather, and hazards change constantly. Always:

• Check current conditions before heading out
• Carry appropriate safety and recovery gear
• Tell someone your plans
• Don't rely solely on any app for navigation

We are not responsible for injuries, vehicle damage, or other losses that occur on trails. Use Trail Scout at your own risk.

7. AI Disclaimer

Trail Scout AI provides recommendations based on our trail database and general outdoor knowledge. AI responses may contain errors. Always verify AI suggestions against current conditions and official sources.

8. Content

Trail data comes from public sources (USFS, BLM, NPS, OSM) and our own curation. Blog content and guides are our original work. You may not republish our content without permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

Trail Scout is provided "as is." We make no warranties about accuracy, availability, or fitness for any purpose. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
